Affirmative

The focus on Iran as the U.S.'s greatest adversary distorts U.S. foreign policy and contributes to the harmful cycle of foreign military interventions that do more damage than good. By prioritizing regional conflicts in the Middle East, the U.S. diverts attention and resources from more significant global challenges, exacerbates proxy wars, and undermines diplomatic efforts. Ending military interventions and focusing on diplomacy and strategic global priorities would better serve U.S. national security interests and reduce the destructive impact of foreign involvement in local conflicts.

Negative

While foreign military interventions can indeed have negative consequences, ceasing them entirely would leave the international community vulnerable to a range of serious threats. Military interventions can prevent genocides, restore stability, counter terrorism, uphold international law, and protect national interests.
